Jane finished this striking quilt showing six quite different blocks in April.  She started it at an evening class and completed it during the lockdown time by attending a virtual class on Zoom given by Sunflower Stitches.

Chris's contribution this month included a 'block of the month' black and white quilt, and two incubator quilts to be donated to the hospital.

On behalf of Roz and a friend, Norma showed four more incubator quilts. Norma explained the parents of the little ones in the NICU were very grateful for these quilts. Often the incubators get moved around and they help them to know where their babies are.

Prolific as ever, Chris showed two lovely quilts which she made and then had them long-arm quilted.

This quilt from Jane shows differing blocks in blues, yellows and greens - star block, railfence, Dutchman's puzzle and churn dash.

Debbie

Debbie created this very clever quilt for her fox-mad daughter's 21st  birthday. A warm, snuggly throw, bought from Tesco, was used for the backing, an ingenious idea to make this quilt perfect for cold winter nights!

Tree Blocks 2

The devasting fires in Australia prompted an ex member to suggest to the group that they make tree blocks that can be sent to Oz where they will be made up into quilts for those unfortunate people who have lost all their possessions. A wide variety of amazing tree interpretations were donated by Orpington Quilters and the Colourwheel group. Seventy blocks were collected this month and will be sent off shortly.

Michelle 1

Michelle presented a quilt of irregular stripes, created at one of Regan's workshops.

She also showed a piece that was a

work-in-progress of iron-on vilene blocks.

Diane Table Runner

Diane showed off this beautiful table runner, a great addition to any birthday decorations.

Pyramid

Michelle has used this Covid-19 lockdown time to get ahead with her Christmas sewing!  She has made this charming Christmas pyramid from a LINA patchwork kit.

Anna started this colourful quilt some time ago but she has now had the time to finish it and aptly called it her Corona Quilt!

Jane has been attending on-line classes for these projects.

The rainbow wall hanging of which we see many today in windows is a symbol of hope and to say to passers by that we will be able to stop and chat to each other again soon.  This was made with the help of a tutor from Sunflower Stitches.

Jane has also made these two bags upcycled from her old jeans. and then a pretty pink and white pin cushion and thread holder.  Good stuff Jane!
